This guide lays out our tips for how to find key contacts at your target companies. We will be using LinkedIn for this guide.

For example, imagine I’m looking for a sales role that I’ve seen at Zoom, the video communication company. Here’s what I’ll do:

Step 1: Go to Zoom’s company page on LinkedIn

Step 2: Click on “See all XX employees”. Since Zoom is a big company, we’ll need to filter the results.

Step 3: Go to “All filters” and type in keywords for the position that you’re targeting. In this case, I searched for “product” as I’m looking for team members in the product team. You may also want to search by location.

As you can see in the screenshot below, we have a list of employees whose LinkedIn title matches “product”. We can identify target contacts and note down on our list.

You can either contact target folks directly on LinkedIn (but you'll hit a limit if you're not a paid member), or you can use some tools to find their email address. More on that in another post!
